What is PGDCC Full Form in Medical?
PGDCC Full Form in Medical is Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Cardiology . In partnership with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offers post-MBBS physicians a two-year, full-time clinical cardiology residency program called (PGDCC).
Description:
This PGDCC diploma is neither an online or remote learning program. It is IGNOU’s first in-person clinical residency program in clinical cardiology. Clinical cardiology training comparable to that offered at the super-specialty level of cardiology is offered by the PGDCC qualification. The lack of interventional cardiology training is the only distinction.
History:
Prior to the former Medical Council of India rejecting the PGDCC qualification in 2013, the PGDCC course was offered in ten batches to more than 1700 doctors. IGNOU submitted two applications to MCI, but MCI rejected both of them, citing the PGDCC qualification. MCI cited the following reasons for non-recognition: the medical qualification could not be recognized under section 10B of the Act; the Central Government’s prior permission under section 10A of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, was not obtained; and the qualification’s nomenclature was absent from the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations (PGMER), 2000.
