What is ECHS Full Form in Medical ?

ECHS Full Form in Medical is Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme. It is a medical insurance program for Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force retirees and their dependents. The Indian government authorized the plan in 2002, and it went into effect in 2003. Through a nationwide network of ECHS Polyclinics, Service Medical Facilities, Government hospitals, empanelled commercial hospitals, and designated Govt. AYUSH hospitals, the Scheme seeks to provide allopathic and AYUSH Medicare to ex-servicemen pensioners and their families. The scheme, which is funded by the Indian government, was designed to guarantee cashless transactions for patients and is modeled after the CGHS.

Cashless care: At healthcare facilities that have been empanelled, patients can receive cashless care. Comprehensive coverage: Allopathic and AYUSH Medicare are offered by the program.

MANAGEMENT :

Following its establishment in September 2004, the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare was given responsibility for matters pertaining to the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme. ECHS was later designated as an associated office of the Department of Ex-servicemen Welfare by a notification dated January 29, 2009. A serving Major General serves as the Managing Director of ECHS’s Central Organization.
